- We will be using two fields with 4 mini fields on each field.
-
We have two leagues of 9 teams each that are level appropriate.
-
Each league will be assigned to a field.
-
Cleats or sneakers are fine and shin pads are strongly recommended.
-
Team shirts will be provided on the day.
Tournament Format and Rules (please read carefully)
- This is a 3-touch tournament (If the ball hits any part of your body that is counted as a touch)
-
5 versus 5
-
Player substitutions can be made on the fly.
-
Please enter the field as your player leaves the field.
-
Playing with 6 players will result in a turnover.
-
Small Goals. Can shoot and score from anywhere.
-
Three corners a penalty from 3/4 field. If you concede 3 corners, then your opponent takes a penalty from 3/4 field from inside their half.
-
No goalie. After penalty, corner count resets.
-
Thrown ins are taken with feet and not thrown in.
-
The HONOUR system is in place for this event.
-
Please note there will be limited on field refs and more roving refs so when in doubt the call must go to your opponents.
-
The format allows for a competitive yet friendly and non-aggressive environment. Any untoward behaviour on or off the field including taunting, disrespect, and bad language will not be tolerated and may result in being ejected from the event.
-
Heavy tackles, slide tackles or aggressive play makes no sense with 3 touch soccer!
Turnover: If you touch the ball 4 times it’s an immediate turnover where your opponent takes possession.
3 feet space must be given. Turnover balls are direct and can be taken as a shot on goal.
- If you touch the ball 3 times, then the ball becomes available to either a teammate or an opposition player.
-
Obvious hand balls (when your arm is away from your body) is an immediate turnover.
-
Players guarding the goal may not use their hands.
-
Deliberate catching or handling of the ball will result in a penalty.
-
Free kicks are direct.
-
Please respect roving refs decisions and remember when in doubt the decision goes to your opponents.
- Expect to play 7 or 8 matches of either 16 or 18 minutes with a 4- or 7-minute transition between matches (to be confirmed as teams are currently being finalized).
-
Total playing time will be either 128 minutes or 126 minutes. It’s a lot of soccer!!
-
Two Horn blasts mean matches start. One long blast means end of match.
